The door at the bottom is level-dependent: if the Dragonborn has no lockpicks, the key will unlock the door, or if the Dragonborn so chooses, he may attempt to lockpick it. The Undeath mod page says that I can use certain items to change how my Lich form if I use them before the ritual. A shallow transformation that can neither sprint or jump and has too few spells making it ultimatley weaker then your regular form, Undeath Immersive Lichdom is needed to make the Lich form even playable.
The caravan can be found just before the path to Lost Valley Redoubt.
